Our jewelry is created of handcrafted flameworked glass beads created by Raven’s View Studio artisans and owners Helen Mills and Genevieve Monahan on the North Olympic Peninsula.
We use a process called lampworking which requires using double gas torches with propane and oxygen. The glass is melted from colored glass rods onto coated steel mandrels and shaped. In some cases we may add silver or dichroic glass chips for affect. The beads are then annealed 5 to 8 hrs for strength in a kiln. The beads are then cleaned with a diamond point drill and incorporated into our jewelry pieces.
