Originally from Illinois, Barbara Parks moved to Bozeman, Mt in 1975, where she owned an art gallery and framing business. Barbara founded Red Mountain Design in 2010 and currently resides in St George, UT. She has spent a lifetime collecting antiques and vintage Native American art, and uses her experiences to inform her jewelry designs. Barbara works primarily in American and Italian leather, incorporating handmade and vintage silver and gemstones in her jewelry designs. Barbara's son, Austin Parks, joined Red Mountain Design in 2016 after finishing his Ph.D. at Northwestern University. He specializes in the design and creation of fine leather handbags, valet trays, card holders and hand stamped leather jewelry designs with detailed patterns evocative of the landscapes of the American West. Austin currently divides his time between St George and Baltimore, MD.
