I was a full-time hairstylist/salon-owner in Raleigh, NC for 33 years and developed what I was told was a repetitive motion injury that effected my neck, arms and hands.  Had to step away from the salon for a while. A couple of years ago when I was diagnosed with Graves' Disease, I discovered that my “repetitive motion injury symptoms disappeared within two days of taking medication for my Graves'. My neck stopped hurting, my tendonitis went away, and my hands stopped trembling.  Why am I telling this…well I couldn't sign my name without it looking like a scribble let alone draw a straight line, but now I'm able to draw and I'm painting up a storm and relieving stress that doctors say can cause problems with Grave's Disease. So, my art is my life now.

I'm living in a small town in southern North Carolina and although I have only been painting for a short time, I have developed an emotional passion and the urge to improve through visual development and organized training.  As a hairstylist I believed it was important to continue my education, you never really master anything you just keep getting better. Thanks to the encouragement from many I began to participate festivals and shows, and found that I love talking about my art, how I got to where I am and where I hope to go.

I gained my passion honestly, I come from very talented parents; my Mom did all kinds of crafts from basket weaving to acrylic/oil painting, my Dad was a wood worker and made all kinds of what nots and doodads and even made picture frames that frame my Mom's art.  My Mothers sisters were all very talented as well I have a designated wall in my home I call the “Faulkner Wall” since they were all Faulkner decent.

Well, that is a little bit about me in a nut shell.  I look forward to many years of “doodling” in my studio and who knows maybe my art will be enjoyed by many for years to come.
