Rock Ridge Artworks
by Frank Hines
My current pottery and sculpture is presented on my website:
rockridgeartworks.com
I have taught High School and Middle School Art for 30 years and am currently teaching Ceramics at Northwestern Nazarene University in Nampa, Idaho. Ceramic pottery and sculpture, Jewelry design and casting and foundry production of bronze sculpture have been a major area of my teaching experience. I taught art in Kamehameha Schools, Honolulu, Hawaii: Aramco Schools, Saudi Arabia: and in California and Montana. I was selected as a presenter at the North East South Asia (NESA) Teachers Conference In Kenya, Africa where I demonstrated "Expressions of Emotion in Clay Sculpture."
My work has been displayed in the NNU Friesen Gallery during the 2018 Fall Semester.
My work is currently wheel-thrown, stoneware pottery and sculpture. Animal characters and people often become my subjects. Each piece is a functional, one-of-a-kind original that generally presents an emotional idea that requires a response of the observer and can be somewhat whimsical at times. I enjoy watching people smile as they look over my display.
