My Mother, Jane Ferrell, started Sands of Time Jewelry several years ago. She began by making jewelry and crafts from sea glass she collected on the Texas Gulf Coast. She was further inspired after watching a hand blown art glass demonstration at a gallery in the Texas Hill Country. Over the years, she became known for the unique pieces she created. Sands of Time Jewelry was not just her company...it was her passion.
Sadly, Mom lost her heroic, yet short battle with cancer in December of 2016. I was honored when she asked me to take over her business, though I didn't know a thing about glass or jewelry at the time.
Almost immediately, I developed my own fascination with glass, and the unique, elegant pieces created with it. I am self taught, and learning more every day. I still work in Mom's small, original studio on the Texas Gulf Coast, and consider myself truly blessed to make a living doing something I love. My 14 year old son, Jacob, is now helping out with website development and online sales, and is hitting the road with me this summer.
We are truly a 3rd generation, family owned business. We are proud of each unique piece created, and hopefully making Mom proud along the way as well.
