Second Hand Dogs Band, Lyndhurst, OH
Second Hand Dogs have shared their music for over 15 years, with local audiences in NE Ohio. Performing close to 500 shows in and around the Cleveland area. In 2013, Second Hand Dogs were selected as 1 of 10 local bands to play their original music at the Ohio State Fair for Ohio Music Showcase. Band fan votes on Cleveland's Hot List resulted in Second Hand Dogs being selected as a 2015 Finalist #4 Best Local Bands in Cleveland, Ohio. In 2018 the group went on an extended hiatus because of various health issues and the Covid pandemic and is back rocking out again with new sets and new originals. We are back and performed some of our new tracks at a number of shows in 2023 including Bay Arts Bark in the Park and the Blues Society tent at the Cuyahoga Fair. In 2018, The band recorded and produced their debut LP with career defining tracks that include, The Rain Song, Forever One, Ohio, and Aliens Among Us. They are currently working on their second LP and it will hopefully be completed in the summer of 2024.
The Second Hand Dogs band consists of Phil and Darla Eberwein at lead vocals. Phil is also the guitarist and has been writing music on his own for years and now collaborates with Darla. Salvatore (a.k.a. Tory) holds down the bass and has been with the band since the start. Bob Ukovic is setting tempo and throwing in fills on the drums.
Whether writing songs about their lives, events, or songs just for fun, everything comes from the heart. Second Hand Dogs are big supporters of local live music and has a nice following. They love entertaining the crowd and possibly maybe throw in some special attractions, pirates, aliens, dogs but probably not Cobra's.
