Sewshores, East Falmouth, MA

Mary McGuire grew up in New England. She resides in Holbrook with her two children after spending many years on the Cape in Falmouth, MA. She is a Plein air painter, seasoned Custom Kitchen Designer, avid quilter and has an Etsy shop named Sewshores since 2012. She has a BFA from UMass Dartmouth and has been in many group and solo shows. She attends craft fairs and holiday events where she can present, design and sell her items. She is a member of Scituate Art Association, Boston Oil Painting Group and Hull Artists, Gallery Nantasket. She has been a member of Falmouth Art Center, Monday Morning Painters, Cape Cod Art Center, Cotuit Center for the Arts and The Crazy Quilters of Falmouth. Her paintings are oil on canvas and her signature work consists of bold brushwork with an attention to depth. Her fiber art highlights her skill with fabric choices and quilting techniques to create fabric landscapes and fabric nautical charts. She is looking forward to discovering new painting locations in this area and making new connections with Artists, Quilters, and the people of this community.
