Shamrocks in the Wind, Sanford, NC
"Shamrocks In The Wind" is a Irish, Celtic, Comedy Folk Ballad Duo who travel worldwide performing traditional ballads, fun pub songs and lots of rolick'n sea songs, occasionally being joined by instrumentalists on fiddle, pipes, penny whistle and bodhran in both live performance and in the studio. As a Duo, John plays 12-string and 6-string guitars, Karol plays 5-string bass both amplified or acoustic.
Our performance makes any place a "Celtic Pub" for the evening. We want people to act like they are "home in Ireland" with a wholesome atmosphere that can be enjoyed by young and old alike. Primarily we perform Irish, Scotts and Australian folk songs as well as traditional sea songs. We have been known to do International and American folk songs as well when requested. We encourage our audience to participate by: singing, clapping, or dancing along.
Celtic music covers all styles of music, blues, happy folk, rebel songs, audience participation ditties and stories of heritage in the form of ballads that are passed down from one generation to the next by balladeers such as we. We try to work in the history and meaning of the songs we sing. We believe it is important to keep the "heritage" of the music alive.
"Shamrocks In The Wind" ™ performs regularly throughout the nation at pubs, luxury resorts, restaurants, festivals and special events. During the last few years we have also performed internationally in Ireland, Scotland, Canada, Jamaica and Mexico.
We have opened for many well-known performers including the Kingston Trio, Glen Yarbrough, the Wolftones, and more.
We would love to play for you!
