My background over the years has been drawing, charcoal, waters, acrylic, oils. Also papermaking, crocheting and knitting. Sewing clothing, household items as well as crocheted and knitted afghans/foot warmers and scarves.
Shards etc started in 1993 as an option for artist who were beyond the educational system but not quite ready to go off on their own. Services included hourly monthly rental spaces. Use of almost all equipment was provided. Other services available: Raking firing. Workshops. Support of local schools at the elementary level. Outside firings.
Decided to develop my own clay skills in l998. And have been self-employed since. Designing, creating and producing my raku fired clay wall tiles or display on easels has continued.
