Sheila Wissner has a bachelor's degree in art education from Western Michigan University. She specializes in a form of enameling called plique-à-jour, in which glass enamel is fired into the openings of the design to create a luminous, transparent effect like stained glass.
She uses a variety of metals in her work: sterling silver, fine (pure) silver, copper, gold.
