In the spring of 2005 I was handed a used Nikon N-90 film camera along with a 200mm lens. I was given a brief overview of how the camera worked and then, was left to discover what I would discover. The obsession took root. I was fascinated to capture, create and participate in images of nature.

My subject matter; Peace of Mind… I find it in the garden.

As you stroll through my exhibit you will see some staged garden scenes –

my garden is my studio – and you will see some images that I could never set up.   In both cases, I am waiting; for light and life. To see what the garden will conjure.

Inviting you to dream, catch your breath, rest.

Wherever I travel, I am always in search of Peace of Mind; therefore you will see an occasional image from a walk on the beach, from beautiful Tuscany and other distant places.

Today I still shoot film, as well as digital images. I have a digital darkroom and do my own printing. Each piece is made by my hand; from conception to capture, processing and development to print. After I print, paint on a surface sealant. I then stretch the canvas over bars and paint the edges. All materials used are archival, creating a museum quality print.

Currently, I exhibit in fine art shows throughout the country, and perform my multimedia presentation; “In the Garden; Bringing the Outside In,” to various groups and organizations.
