I have been producing unique, hand marbled clothing and accessories for over 20 years, using the original method of marbling to produce unique wearable art and accessories.
The marbling process starts by treating the pieces of white clothing with alum and line drying. The items are then mounted on forms to stretch them to remove wrinkles. A large, 4' x 8' vat if water is prepared by mixing with with carrageen. Acrylic paint is dropped on the water and worked to various patterns using large combs and brushes. Once I have the desired pattern, the material is laid directly on the water where the paint is transferred to the item. The items are then rinsed and line dried. Once dry, the paint is heat set in a clothes dryer.
Each item is unique, no two are alike. My clothing items and hats are pre-made but the headbands, barrettes and other items are hand-made. I have t-shirts, tank tops and dresses in sizes Small thru 3X.
I also have onsies for newborn to 24 months that make wonderful baby shower gifts.
Accessories and other items include quilt squares, head bands, barrettes, purses and notebook covers.
