My name is Sarah Short, and I've been baking since I was a teenager and by my early 20's I soon discovered that I had a passion for it. It wasn't until I was in my 30's that I decided to take a basic cake decorating class at Micheal's Craft Store. Afterwards, I had a newfound passion, and I was eager to learn everything that I could about decorating cakes. 

For many years I worked a full-time job and baked at night to fulfill my orders.  I was eligible to retire December 2020. Soon after, we found the perfect spot for our cake shop, and we opened in September 2022.

The name ShortCakes, Etc. was derived from my last name "Short" and my love for baking "Cakes."  After many years of hard work, I have grown into a respected baker/cake decorator in my community, and I am very proud to serve my clients with my cakes and cake products, and I look forward to doing so for many years to come.
