There is a certain amount of pleasure when you meet the one and only International Recording Artist, Sky Covington, a very unique and talented neo-jazz singer. While she has a unique look, she is set apart from the rest with an enchanting unique, smooth sound. She blew away her audience with nonstop participation and love for her admirers and/or followers...whatever you want to call them; they were very lively and supportive. You will become an instant fan. If you're a fan of Jill Scott, Erykah Badu, then you may enjoy Sky. Sky is one of Detroit's best kept music secrets, but she won't be for very long. She recently recorded her live CD, "Club Crescendo," at the Jazz Lofts in Detroit on Saturday, April 3, 2010. I was priviledged to attend her "Black Party Birthday Celebration" hosted at the
Harbor House, located at 440 Clinton Street in Greektown Detroit, East of Gratiot. What a great time that was. You can find Sky Covington performing downtown Detroit at the Harbor House every Wednesday, beginning at around 9:00 p.m.
