Festival Du Bois, Coquitlam, BC

Member Since: February 16, 2009
Coquitlam, British Columbia

Since it began in 1990, the Festival du Bois has attracted thousands of visitors to Blue Mountain Park in Coquitlam on the first weekend of March, each year.  Festival du Bois promotes the rich and historical French-Canadian culture and language of BC, which has been in Maillardville for almost one hundred years (the first settlers from Québec arrived in 1909).  The Festival du Bois, now in its 34th year, has prospered and has become one of the largest and most visited bilingual festival in the Greater Vancouver area.

With it's relaxed atmosphere and French-Canadian « Joie de Vivre », Festival du Bois welcomes over 15,000 enthusiastic spectators who have come to “let go” to the sounds of Celtic, traditional, folk and world music, to sample traditional foods (who can resist tourtierre, poutine, maple sugar pie, and delicious maple taffy on a snow-bed), and to learn about the history of the francophone society in BC.  (Did you know Maillardville is the only official bilingual community in the province?)

Children are always welcome at the Festival du Bois.  It's fun for the whole family.  Festival du Bois is a family event which features children's entertainment, complete with a children's stage and performance program.  For the adults, there is the main stage performance area with performances that run daily and an intro night to the Festival on Friday's before the weekend festivities.

Don't miss the Festival du Bois, March 24 & 25, 26 2013.  We look forward to welcoming you to our event and sharing our hospitality with you.
