Someday My Prints..."Quilting everything but Quilts".
My shop is called Someday My Prints... and I make high quality quilted placemats and table runners for special occasions, holidays and everyday use. I use only 100% quilt shop quality cottons for the front of the placemats, polyester batting inside and cotton muslin or other cotton fabrics for the backings.
I started making handbags and quilted placemats about 10 years ago. I was working full time and didn't have much time to but into my fledgling business. Now that I am semi-retired, working only one day a week, I really want to see where my crafting business can take me.
I started slowly at the end of the summer taking my placemats to the Ely Farmer's Market and was surprised that I sold quite a few items. By handing out my business cards I was also able to get a couple of custom orders.
Customers really like to be able to see and touch products before they buy, see the quality of craftsmanship, and the quality of fabrics before they purchase. I believe once the sale has been made they will be more likely to buy from my online shop.
