Stacy Lewis Studio
My paintings focus on the personalities and forms of animals, and combine a wide variety of media. The canvas is first covered with paper, then loose watercolor washes are applied for an underpainting. Acrylic paints, soluble pencils, inks and other watermedia are used in later layers to build up rich, luminous colors. Paper or foil elements are sometimes used for accents and texture. While my paintings are built upon a solid drawing foundation, their dramatic use of color and whimsical “animated” quality make them unique.
