The second annual Star City Music Festival was an astronomical success, and we're thrilled to have the third returning to Brisbane, California. Brisbane is right down the road from San Francisco at the eastern foot of San Bruno Mountain, which blocks the fog! The sun shines all summer in the City of Stars, so bring the whole clan to this family affair in the gorgeous Community Park on August 17th for a grand summertime finale designed to connect the magical mountainside oasis with its neighbors in Daly City, San Bruno, South SF, and the entire Bay Area.
Headliners the Stone Foxes are simply one of San Francisco's best and most celebrated rock and roll bands. The Dead Winter Carpenters kick out Americana jams, while Diggin' Dirt will head down from Humboldt to dish up festive NorCal funk. We've also got guitar virtuoso Eric McFadden (P-Funk, the Animals), and the Star City Allstars led by Jimmy Leslie (Guitar Player Magazine, Guitarfish Fest) and Mikel Ross (Lucky Recording Company) will kick-start the afternoon with a variety of styles. It all adds up to an incredibly diverse day of music in the park.
Production and presentation is stellar. Artists perform on an impressive transformer-truck stage stacked with a massive P.A. provided by top-shelf sound and lighting experts PSAV. San Bruno Mountain provides a breathtaking backdrop, and the event supports San Bruno Mountain Watch to help ensure the preservation of the precious nature reserve that sits atop the mountain like a crown jewel. The most spectacular views in the Bay Area are up there too!
Food trucks serve diverse delectable at Star City Fest, and the Lions Club will purvey festival favorites to benefit their cause of civic service. Several bars serve adult beverages including craft beers by South SF's 47 Hills Brewing Company. The gazebo will be filled with cool vendors such as McDermott Guitars and Mr. California and offer oodles of valuable information from community non-profit partners. Remember to bring the whole family—parking is free, and so is admission for and kids under ten. They can go crazy on the spacious playground and create custom tie-dyed commemorative T-shirts.
