Sounds like: Joni Mitchell meets Bill Evans. Evocative, playful, sultry, wry, warm, and witty, with flashes of startling pianistic brilliance, Steve's music covers a broad spectrum. At the core, his piano-driven, jazz-informed style pays homage to his many influences - great songwriters and vocalists like Joni Mitchell, Sarah Vaughan, Earl Zindars, Neal Young, Adrian Belew, Kenny Rankin, and Leonard Cohen. This is intelligent pop music for grownups who still like to play.

Steve is also the author of "The Road to Aqaba - Practice Strategies for the Jazz Pianist." These strategies are gathered from a lifetime of study and performance experience - as a multi-keyboardist with a master's degree in classical piano, as a touring modern-ballet dancer, actor, instructor and clinician. Steve's workshops provide students and professionals with the tools to get the most from their musical practice. Steve offers performance and educational packages to suit a wide variety of schedules and curricula, with options ranging from one-off master classes, to semester-long courses. Topics include jazz theory and technique, improvisation (for all instruments), motivational concepts, and rehearsal techniques.
