Company Description

StockKids Academy is a free-to-start financial literacy platform designed to teach children, teens, and adults how the stock market works — through hands-on simulation, games, and real-company analysis. Users receive $10,000 in virtual money to build a portfolio of 150 real publicly traded companies across 16 sectors, with no real money, no real risk, and no jargon.

The platform spans every level of learner: K–6 students explore entrepreneurship through animated mini-games and quests, middle and high schoolers dive into stocks, options, and investing strategy through an interactive Academy and RPG-style adventures, and adults take on the full suite — including bonds, crypto, retirement planning, and career simulation.

Background Biography

StockKids Academy was built on a simple belief: financial literacy should start early, and it should actually be fun.

The platform was created in response to a glaring gap in education — most kids graduate high school without ever learning how a paycheck works, what a stock is, or why compound interest matters. Meanwhile, the financial decisions they'll face as adults — saving for retirement, understanding credit, evaluating a company — require knowledge most people don't get until it's too late.

StockKids Academy was designed from the ground up to change that. The K–6 experience drops young learners into Entrepreneur Avenue — a colorful neighborhood of kid-run shops including a lemonade stand, a bracelet bench, and a bake sale, where every mini-game teaches a real concept: revenue, cost, profit, and change-making. Older students take on Market Quest RPG, a 52-quest adventure through nine financial zones, while teens and adults can trade real tickers, explore options strategies, simulate a 401(k) over a 40-year career, and work through 45 Academy modules covering everything from index funds to startup financing.

Every piece of content is age-calibrated and educational — never investment advice. "Finn," the platform's built-in AI tutor, is available around the clock to answer questions in plain English, and a daily Stock of the Day spotlight breaks down one real company each morning so learners of any age can follow along with what's actually happening in the market.

StockKids Academy is free to join. A Premium plan ($4.99/month or $39/year) unlocks advanced Academy content, and a School plan ($9.99/month) is built for classroom use — giving teachers a structured, engaging tool to bring financial education into the curriculum.

The mission is straightforward: give every kid — and every adult who never got the chance — a safe, engaging place to learn how money actually works.
