Tall Tail Llama Ranch and Fiber Arts LLC, Collbran, CO
We are Rob and Jill Knuckles, and our journey with llamas started over 25 years ago. Tall Tail Llama Ranch and Fiber Arts, LLC is located in Collbran, Colorado on the Grand Mesa, where our llamas enjoy the mountain pastures and cool nights which provide a wonderful environment to raise strong and healthy animals. Our first llamas were purchased to join us on our backpacking trips in the mountains of Colorado. We very quickly discovered their incredible fiber and our next journey began…
Our vision is focused on breeding exceptional llamas with sound conformation, outstanding dispositions, and fine fleece that will produce yarn and roving desired by knitters, weavers, spinners, and all fiber artists. Our breeding program has stood up to our vision with each llama generation proving themselves in the showring. Tall Tail Llama Ranch proudly offers generations of halter, fleece, and performance champions within our herd.
Equally important is to ensure we breed llamas with wonderful dispositions, temperament, and athleticism. Llamas are very intelligent animals and curious by nature. Our llamas are part of our family. Being courteous and gentle when being handled is important as well as having the ability to maneuver while on mountain hikes.
As our journey began with processing our wonderful llama fleece into products to be used, our love for the fiber arts began. We strive to create the finest quality yarns from our llama fleece and personally source fleece we use in our blends, such as merino and other natural fibers. We love our 100% llama yarn and roving. However, we have discovered that we can also produce beautiful blends with other natural fibers such as silk, merino and mohair to offer a range of yarn and roving products Our creations are carefully handcrafted to ensure we are providing a quality product. Each creation is unique and one-of-a-kind.
We are passionate about our llamas, and they are passionate about providing high quality fiber for you.
