I've been sewing practically all my life. My mother and grandmother were seamstresses. My grandmother was a hand quilter and sewed mostly by hand. She also tatted and was a very good cook. I never learned to cook like that, but sat at her side and learned to sew. My mother made all our clothes. Fortunately, we had to take home economics in high school where we had a semester of cooking and a semester of sewing. My step-mother also helped me learn to sew my own skirts in junior high school. I have been making garments for customers for every day, as well as wedding garments, costumes, and prom dresses. In the late 70's I took up quilting for a short time; then did not pick it up again until 1996 where I have been hooked ever since. I also do machine embroidery, tatting crewel and have a mid arm quilting machine. I have a website where I sell custom quilts, accessories, embroidered items and cloth dolls.
