Teresa Aiton - Studio
Living and growing up on the Monterey Peninsula gave me an appreciation for beauty all around me. Moving to the High desert of LA, then to Big Bear Lake, my appreciation continues to grow everyday. My surroundings are important for a restless and creative spirit.
I began painting seriously just three years ago. I have always had a creative side, weather in decorating, or making crafts. I have never painted before this, but have always been drawn to it, however knowing I could only draw stick figures, I always shied away from it .
On impulse one day I bought a few paints and a couple of canvases. I absolutely love painting and what comes out of me. Once I started I never looked back. What has evolved continues to surprise me.
Painting Abstract pieces is my strength. Incorporating Gaelic scripture, song lyrics and poems into the paintings is one of my signatures, also the swirling technique I use for the first layer of the canvas, wood or glass.
I have had several works in DGallery in Lake Arrowhead before their closure this last December.
I continue to look for galleries where my art is a good fit.
