The Americana Groove Project is Jae Sinnett's latest, soulful and very funky musical venture. It's a multi-genre band that plays everything from blues to soul to rock to funk to jazz fusion. Jae Sinnett is a legendary jazz drummer/composer/music educator but for this project he comes out front to sing lead for the band....digging into the musical styles that influenced him as a young boy coming into his teenage years. The sounds of Motown, Stax, James Brown, Ray Charles, Jimi Hendrix, Cream. Bobby Blues Bland, BB King, Led Zeppelin, Sly and the Family Stone and many more were always on Jae's turntable growing up. The Groove Project's sound reflects these soulful influences and permeates the sound and feel of the music. Most of the material are Jae's originals but the band plays covers too such at Drift Away, Sittin on the Dock of the Bay, Where is the Love, Red House, Brown Eyed Girl and more. The musician's joining Jae are guitarist Jay Rakes...bassist Terry Burrell...keyboardist Weldon Hill...drummer Cody Thornton and vocalist Brittany Burrell. All stellar musicians with deep resumes and experience.

Jae Sinnett has 15 recordings as a lead and has appeared on many as a sideman. He's also senior jazz host and producer for WHRV FM, 89.5 public radio out of SE Virginia. Now in his 30th year. He also hosts the popular show The R&B Chronicles. He's an award winning veteran broadcaster and musician that has appeared on countless festivals, conducted many music masterclasses and universities across the country and has toured performing the globe.
