Mother's Day

posted May 7, 2011

Tomorrow is Mother's Day, a special day to remember all the wonderful things mom has done for us.  Why not do something special for her?

Cook her favorite meal and serve it on a beautiful set table.  Pull out her favorite tablecloth and fabric napkins.  See how her face lights up in delight.  She will enjoy the pampering and fussing.

Wishing a very Happy Mother's Day to all!

5 Types of Fabric Napkins by The Elegant Napkin

Have you ever wondered how many different types of fabric napkins can be found?  Most importantly, what are the sizes and how do you use these different sizes?  At The Elegant Napkin, we have found 5 types most often used by people.

  1. Cocktail Napkins  -  10 x 10 square
  2. Tea Napkins  -  12 x 12 square
  3. Luncheon Napkins  -  14 x 14 square
  4. Dinner Napkins  - 18 x 18 square or 20 x 20 square
  5. Formal Dinner Napkins  -  22 x 22 quare up to 26 x 26 square

Cocktail napkins are of course used as an appetizer napkin or used when serving drinks.

Tea napkins are used when serving a cup of tea and perhaps a bisquit, cookie, or scone.

Luncheon napkins are used for very informal dining, and of course for a nice lunch.

Dinner napkins are used at buffet or sit-down dinners.

Formal napkins are used at very elegant dinner parties and weddings.

All these napkins can also be used to line bread baskets or platters and bowls.

I hope this might be helpful in any of your entertaining adventures.
