If you have ever heard the phrase, “art is in the eye of the beholder,”then I suppose everything I see is art. Friends tease me when I head out with my best friend Sophie by my side to scour estate sales or rescue forgotten furniture from an alleyway and the sidewalk. They call it “junking.” I call it giving something the chance to be beautiful, useful, and loved again.

Antiques have a history. If they could speak, imagine the stories they would tell. I want to know every detail—the smell of the room they once lived in, the places they traveled, the hands that held them. This is the lens through which I see the world, and it is the exact same lens I brought with me when building the dream that became The Flannel Bear.
