The Sammy Dee Blues Band is a trio of professional musicians founded by Sammy Dee Morton. Sammy Dee Morton has performed the blues for over 25 years and in that time has created a unique style all his own that can be best described as louisiana/ Texas style blues. The result is a unique blend of upbeat, energetic yet souful music in some of the traditional stylings of Cajun and Texas blues. Sammy Dee Morton cites some of his influences as Buddy Guy, Albert Collins and Robert Cray and lets that shine through in his music. He has appeared on multiple recordings, toured nationally in support of his album "Redheaded Stepchild on his "Red, Whites and Blues tour " and was even deemed an " Honorary Louisiana bluesman" by the state of Louisiana in 2005. The band currently resides in Longmont, Colorado and consists of Sammy Dee Morton on vocals and guitar, David Morgenstern on bass and Steve Saviano on drums. They have been playing the local circuit while gaining new blues fans both young and old that appreciate the unique blend of stylings that make The Sammy Dee Blues Band stand apart.
