It’s been many years since I had picked up a paint brush.  My visual art took a 5 year vacation and my art become creating unique, engaging art activities for my students.  Now, I have refocused my priorities, left the teaching field and have fallen back in love with hold my brush once again...

I once considered myself an abstract-assemblage, oil painter.  Finding various materials to place on my canvas, dripping paint and asking people to find deep meaningful stories within my work.  But as time ages us all and refines us, my work has become more refined, tuned and colorful.  I now call myself an Impressionistic painter.  No longer focusing on abstract style work, I have found a passion and desire for landscape and cityscape imagery.  Still using my signature brushstroke and finger techniques, I no longer use oil, but changed my main media to acrylic.  Using light to evoke a mood, a memory or just something beautiful to look at has re-focused my artistic expressions.

My work now focuses on the beauty around us.  From landscape imagery, trees at dusk or dawn, to cityscape images that push light and beauty at midnight’s approach, you will find an ambiance in what you see in my work.

I enjoy creating all landscapes that I can enhance the light; either natural light or electrical; there is something amazing light does for the human spirit.

Revisiting my love of painting has allowed me to refocus and develop work that I am proud to say is unique and different but still pays respect to all the landscape artists before me.  I hope you enjoy looking as much as I had creating...
