Tinsel Painting originated in China in the 1700's.
I have been involved with this art for many years and now wish to be attending shows closet my home in Western Mass. I would prefer shows that are inside since I do not have the means to safely show my art on windy days.
To create a Tinsel I choose a frame, draw the design on the glass, paint the solid color background, then using transparent oil paints I fill in the picture. Once dry I place crinkled aluminum foil behind the pattern, then place the back on the frame.
