Welcome to:  To bead or not to bead?

Johna Opsitnick Artisan

Johna is a self taught gemstone artist.  She became interested in the art when, as an officers wife in the Air Force, she was charged with involving new officers’ wives with activities to ensure a fun acclamation to their new home.

Some of her favorite materials to work with include; hand painted Kazuri from Africa, semi precious gemstones such as Tigers eye, Aventurine, Agate, and Hill Tribe Silver from Northern Thailand.

Each piece draws inspiration from the different areas of the world where she has lived: the warm, earthy breezes of the American South West, the icy stillness of the Alaskan wilderness, the timeless beauty of an historic Europe and the forever changing seasons of her childhood New England.
