Tom Bombadil Meadery is located in Georgetown, Texas. Our Meadery produces a variety of products made from Texas-grown products, some of which are grown on the owner's land. These include honey and honey-related products, and mead. Tom Bombadil Meadery produces the only dry mead in Texas, which is similar to a dry white wine. One of the owners, James McElhanon, is an experienced beekeeper and is passionate about creating new honey products. Our goal is to become a leader in the growth of the honey bee populations of Texas and the world through development of additional bee related products, sound beekeeping, training, and research and development of profitable honey bee related products. Honey bee populations are in decline and many people are concerned. Research by the Centre for Research on Globalization in Montreal, Canada indicates "that the honeybee population has dropped by more than 30 percent." The relationship between pollinator and plant directly affects our food. Developing honey bee products will make it profitable for small farm land owners to keep bee hives thus proliferating the honey bee population.
