Twistback Center for The Arts and Twistback Art Conservancy, Ltd have been an established business for over 50 years. It was established in 1969 by Ruth and Timothy Jayne.  Twistback has had thousands of works of art from Brandywine River Museum, Chester County Historical Society, Delaware Historical Society, Winterthur, New York State Museum in Albany, and private customers all over the country who have brought their precious art objects, paintings watercolors and other media to be conserved and/or restored.  Timothy has a BA in fine arts from Temple University and a Masters of Fine Art from L'institut Royal du Patrimone Artistique at Brussels Belgium.  He studied under Gordon Salter, and Benjamin Knotts, head of Decorative Arts at the Metropolitan Museum of Art.  Timothy was conservator at Winterthur Museum for Mr. Francis duPont for nine years.   Ruth received her BA in Fine Arts and Marywood University, and later her Masters degree in Fine arts at Temple University.  Their daughter Margaret received her Bachelors degree from Marywood University, and they are joined by her son William Furness Rosen who has received his BA in fine arts from Rosemont College.
Twistback is a one of a kind experience, the property sits on 42 acres of pristine Chester County farmland and woods with the Muddy Run Creek running through the property. The place was designed and built under the auspices of Timothy and Ruth with the help of dedicated, talented young artisans as well as their children and grandchildren. Twistback Center for the Arts is moving into new directions with a theatre company, and promotion of local artists and artisans of all types throughout the surrounding community.  The Spring/Summer Art, Wine, and Music festival will be held on June 3rd 2017 this year from 2:00 until dark.  All are welcomed to come and experience Twistback Center for the Arts!
