Warren started his interest in art by drawing Walt Disney characters while in the sixth grade and pencil portraits in seventh and eighth grade. Prior to joining the Army and during his Army tour, Warren started wood carving. Subjects included Tiki’s, Easter Island heads, Siamese cats and wall hanging art. These all helped support Warren and his wife and child during the final years of his university education. After assignments in Africa and England, Warren started oil painting in Australia in 1982. Warren continued his oil painting lessons in San Francisco until the late 1980’s. Warren is a California Certified Public Accountant (inactive) and enjoys programming computers and creating websites. After retirement in 2006, Warren resumed painting in Austin, Texas in late 2009. |
