While always interested in and fascinated by Gems and Minerals and metal working, I took up Jewelry in 2007 after leaving the work force for health reasons. I blame my Mom; both she and my Dad had been active in the Gem and Mineral Scene for 20 years and she suggested jewelry as a distraction from chronic pain. It has been a side focus and therapy rolled into one for almost 10 years now. When I started doing shows on my own, it became clear that jewelry doesn't always pay the bills, so I began selling jewelry making supplies, finding a niche market for Sterling Silver (SS) and Gold Filled (GF) findings. As a self-taught jeweler, my skills improved and expanded; from beading and knotting, I gravitated to wire wrapped chain link jewelry. Using SS, GF, and 14K chain, wire, beads and other findings and precious and semi-precious stones I create delicate linked jewelry with a unique, elegant look. While always seeking new skills and knowledge, my focus remains making jewelry that's pleasing to the eye with low production techniques to fulfill my need for a therapeutic artistic, outlet.
