The realm of Americana music is a large and messy place. Nestled comfortably deep within the schizophrenia lies Wil Van Winkle & the Sixpins.
International recording artist Wil Van Winkle has played in the former USSR, Asia, Europe, and throughout the US in bars, clubs, festivals, and more. In 2016 after a 3 year stint in Germany he returned to the US and formed Wil Van Winkle & the Sixpins.
The band cut their teeth in dive bars and restaurants and in 2021 were invited to play Bo's Extravaganza headlined by John Schneider, best known for his role as Bo Duke on the hit TV series the Dukes of Hazzard or Jonathan Kent on Smallville. Wil Van Winkle & the Sixpins were invited to play several other Bo's Extravaganza events but had to decline due to prior engagements including the Henry County Pioneer Day music festival in Tennessee.
In 2022 Wil Van Winkle & the Sixpins were invited back to Henry County Pioneer Day, and have since been booked at Rahe Mountain Live in Independence, KY; City Market 4th Friday in Huntingburg, IN; Gibson, County Fair in Trenton, TN; and once again Bo's Extravaganza but sadly due to health issues surrounding a key member of John Schneider's group, those events were cancelled.
While the band is just beginning booking their 2023 season, they already have tentative dates at the Country Music Meeting in Berlin, Germany in February.
