I have been involved in performing arts since I could walk, and have always been fascinated by language and words, literature and communication. Even the Bible says, "In the beginning was the Word..."
As a dancer, choreographer and teacher, musician and teacher, American Sign Language interpreter and tutor, I have followed my heart into a variety of ways of communicating and sharing those "Best Things in Life" that are not "Things".
One of those heartways is as a Storyteller focused on those who most need a moment of joy and light: Over-busy, over-burdened, burnt-out adults. I carry a velvet bag full of small objects. Each one represents a tale or poem, a blessing or song, a dream or imagining. My listeners take turns reaching into the bag and drawing forth an object that evokes the words that are meant for them to hear at that moment.
When the tale is told, I often hear nothing for a moment, then a sharp intake of breath, and then "A-Ha!" or "Oh!"
