Fjorinta is an Albanian artist based in Portland Maine. Constantly drawing and creating, her passion for the arts initially led her to study Fine Art and Fashion Textile in artistic conservatory continuing to a Bachelor of Set Design and Costume Design in Scenic Arts and graduated with distinction in 2013 from the University of Tirana. Through this amazing opportunity she immersed herself in an entirely new experience where she refined and developed her painting and design skills under the guidance of accomplished artists, designers and professors. During her studies Fjorinta was introduced to many disciplines including Fine Arts, Fashion Design, Interior Design, and Theater Designs. With her sensitive style of expression, Fjorinta Qirushi conveys the fascinating beauty of life in oil paintings, watercolors and acrylics. Her paintings are a response to herself and her environment, thought processes and emotional states play themselves out. Equally passionately capturing a look on someone's face, a mood, an attitude or the simple poesy of a faraway landscape, she translates intuitive thoughts into works of art. She explore an abstract vocabulary inspired by gestural line and organic forms. Falling somewhere between recognizable aspects of nature and abstraction, her paintings are a constant exploration of the natural world with a deeply sensitive connection to life, it is a beauty of things imperfect, impermanent, and incomplete. A beauty of things unconventional. When working she hangs multiple pieces in her studio space, but works on one painting at a time. Often she steps away to gain objectivity from the emotion she brings to the work, allowing things to settle before seeing her painting again with fresh eyes.
