Several years ago, I survived two battles with breast cancer within two years. For anyone who has been through a severe medical crisis, it is crucial to have the right mindset to reclaim your health. My artwork gave me an escape from all the fears that were spinning in my head about my diagnosis and treatment. I spent my time before and after radiation treatment coloring intricate mandalas. The more complex the design, I focused on spending five days a week in the radiation vault. My artwork caught the attention of other cancer warriors we shared a dialogue that didn't revolve around cancer. I began creating and framing my abstract artwork for those who finished their radiation treatment as a quasi-graduation gift.  By the end of my treatment, I had created art not only for my fellow cancer warriors but for my radiation team as a way of thanking them for the care they had given me.

People began making requests for the framed pieces of my work. I researched other methods to share my art and discovered a company that used dye sublimation to transfer a photo of my work onto a wide variety of products that display my art on a functional item. Zen Kush was formed because creating art gives me a peaceful Zen-like mindset and I want others to feel that way through my art.

Zen Kush creates one-of-a-kind vibrantly colored pillow covers on a sateen fabric that are available in sizes 12"x 12", 16"x 16", or 20"x 20". These pillow covers are washable without the worry of colors fading or bleeding.
