Easy Halloween decorating 101
  • keep it simple: Nothing is more frustrating than spending hours on end decorating a yard, have it up for a month and have to take it all back down again. Simple is better you do not have to out do the neighbors. As long as your the happy camper who cares? Nothing is more important than you. select things that you can display easily and ones that don't cost an arm and a leg to do it. at www.alsyart.com  you can find many ideas that will help.

  •  we are all about eco-friendly whenever possible. This can be made with scrap pieces of lumber on the backside with cardboard stapled to the front painted black. For effect you can add a fog machine which I think is a necessesity for your Halloween Decorations and a spot light behind it with a few gravestones scattered around it for that eery Halloween feel. In total this should cost you less than $40.00 even if you have to go to the hardware store to buy the lumber. You have to purchase the black spray paint etc. but you get the idea. You'll also need some stakes to hold it in place. You do not want the wind blowing it over after all the work you just did. In total this should take you about 2-3 hours to complete and is a great project for the kids. You can get the plans for this spooky haunted house right here.   • GraveStones: A truly authentic halloween Yard would not be complete without them. Read my blog post: How to make your Own Graveyard on how to do this.
  • Pumpkins are a great form of yard art and they are relatively cheap grab a few dozen have the kids carve them out and you have your own spooky, funny,pumpkin art festival. When doing so many pumpkins you might want to use a jigsaw (adults of course) to help aid in the process of carving, I use mione every year just for this purpose
  • Plastic Ghosts in The Wind: heres an easy hassle free way to make it look as though ghosts are flying through your yard. Grab some white Plastic Trash Bags ( the kitchen ones work best) some old newspaper and a permanent marker. Roll up the newspaper into balls to form the head of your ghost. Don't be skimpy it needs to look like a head. When you have stuffed the newspaper into the plastic bag use a twist tie for the neck. With your marker make the eyes, the nose and the mouth. Grab some string, wire or any other sort of hanging device you have lying around and carefully poke it through the bag with a pencil and tie a not on the top. Hang them from tree's porches or any other place you can think of to make your yard com to life.

    • So keep it simple, use items you have hanging around the house and this year be eco friendly. Your imagination and some time to make it all work gives you the Halloween Yard Art you have always wanted
