I photograph slices of the world as they speak to me; people, events, nature, cityscapes, small towns, my imagination.
While photography has been a steady part of my life since high school, I spent the first 36 years of my professional life in education. I did enter juried shows and had a gallery show during that time, but my efforts were spotty. Mostly my photography was about my students.
The plan was to take this passion and make it my second career, which it now is. Belchertown Photos opened in 2011. The process of taking the mental vision of what I see and turning what I've shot into a realization of that vision is my process at work regardless of the subject of my photo. Whether I'm working on nature, event, or photojournalistic photography, the creative process is the same.
