Blaine Filthaut, Atlantic Beach, FL
Born in Western Canada, a small town prairie boy at heart. Influenced by art since a young age from the Prairies to the splendor of the Rocky Mountains and the art enriched environment of Quebec. Quebec had a major influence on my palette, color and brush stroke style. Now residing in Atlantic Beach, Florida for the past 10 years.
I have been painting and organizing art outings and art related projects for many years. Previously, I was a Senior Executive in the finance world for a major finance company.
Early works focused on watercolor and transitioned to oil 5 years ago with a focus on refining the color palette and brush stroke in this medium.
Major influences are the teachings of the American Artist, Stephen Quiller, (renowned expert of color, having extensively studied the Masters) and local artists.

Statement:
"In touch with good energy, I especially enjoy trying new techniques to get my message across as to what I feel in any given painting. Depth in a painting is important to add reality along with the use of vivid colors properly toned and balanced to reflect those special moments that we do not see day to day, however, when we do see them they are something to remember."
