Virginia singer/songwriter Chris Anderson plays original folk/pop, blues, and Americana. Her instruments include guitar, harmonica, and on occasion bass and mandola.  She likes to write political satire and socially conscious songs, and enjoys performing songs from the 1920's - 1960's.  In 2019, her song on gerrymandering, "Just Change The Boundary," was highlighted in the Virginia Humanities nationally syndicated radio program “With Good Reason" episode on redistricting reform, and in 2018 she was awarded GOLD in the Mid-Atlantic Song Contest (Open category.)   In 2003 she won a GRAMMY in the Streets award from BMI & the National Academy of Recording Arts & Sciences.

Chris Anderson performs as a solo artist or as a duo, trio or with her full band, the Harried Americans. She is the founder/producer of the Harried Americans RoadShow, a variety show with a 5 1/2 year residency in Northern Virginia, that features her full band, guest comedians, 50's era beat poetry, and musical guest artists. Her original songs are refreshingly quirky, with fierce guitar leads, complex harmonica riffs, and lyrics that are wide-eyed yet wise.  Her thoughts about friendship, illness, love or the human condition are honest and hopeful.  While her thematic ideas and political satire may emerge from the evening news, she aims for humor and poignancy rather than poison.
