Continuing the tradition of Native Canoe Races of the 1930s, revived in 1992. The Penn Cove Water Festival, held in historic Coupeville on beautiful Whidbey Island, is a free family festival, including tribal canoe races, storytelling, native arts and crafts, youth activities, native music, dance, demonstrations, exhibits and displays, fry bread and other native and Northwest foods.
