We’re now accepting proposals for the 2026 FOBA Conference in beautiful Monmouth, Oregon, and we’re looking for workshops that will inspire, challenge, and delight our attendees. Whether you have a tried-and-true favorite or a fresh, experimental idea you’ve been dying to teach, we want to hear from you! Below are a few ideas tossed around for inspiration—but don’t let that limit your imagination. Bring your passion, your skills, and your love for book arts to the table—we can’t wait to see what you come up with! Etched book covers Leather working Paper engineering Conservation and restoration Box making Fine binding–does it need specialized equipment? Letterlocking Tool making Classes for teachers (taking book arts into the classroom) Beginner or bootcamp classes Back to Basics–a refresher for professionals or experienced makers One day classes appropriate for beginners on every day of conference Adding content to books with activities like collage, gelli printing, painting, cyanotype, botanical dying, calligraphy Altered books Incorporating embroidery, stitching (hand or machine), fiber, etc. in book art Incorporating wood (book covers, laminate, driftwood, etc.) in book art Unusual book structures Historic book structures and models Please click contact Jeri Oswalt Volunteer Coordinator for more details and to submit your proposal.
