Hello to all strolling entertainers of quality and others! My name is Greg McMahan, I perform as "Mister Greggy". During my 36 years as an entertainer, I've seen many types of strolling entertainment. Some really impressed me, others were forgotten before I left for home. What do you think makes an act memorable? Does it need to be the latest and greatest, or do the old classics still hold up just fine?

old classics, and a touch of humor...we want to be entertained, feel good, and forget our troubles. "dear mr fantasy, play us a tune, something to make us all happy"~Traffic but then again, there are the drunks that love songs about drinking so they can pour down some more~ depends upon your audience...beerfest? booze song

I remember the late great magician Aldo Columbini once told me, "5 years, 5 months, 5 minutes from performing a trick for someone, they won't remember what you did, they'll remember how you made them feel."

This is a deep question, because people DO remember how you made them feel more than what exactly you did. If you embarrass someone, or insult someone, you may become memorable, but in the worst possible way. Treat people with respect and let them have fun, surprises, and a few good laughs, and you've got an act they'll remember - and love - for years.
