I am just starting my business and am not sure what I am. I make jams and jellies so does that make me a food vendor, gourmet foods, retailer or what? Can someone assist me?

Hard to say...I would say you are a craft person/gourmet foods and certainly not a retailer or food vendor who I associate with a buy-sell type business.
