Swing string band est. 2002. Gypsy swing and world cafe music. Two guitars, violin, upright bass, female vocals in English, French, Spanish, Yiddish. We play jazz manouche, klezmer, chanson, jump blues, standards, bossa nova, contemporary European jazz/pop. Great music for dancing.
The group formed out of gypsy swing jam sessions in Boulder, Colorado. We played the first Djangofest Colorado in Crested Butte. We also produced and performed three gypsy jazz festivals in Longmont, Colorado with city sponsorship. The group has performed at swing dances at the Avalon Ballroom in Boulder and the Mercury Cafe in Denver. Currently the group plays two swing dances each month at La Vita Bella in Longmont. We play concerts at Nissi's in Lafayette about twice a year, as well as restaurant gigs and weddings.
