A poly-Caribbean experience, Martin Franco's Mambo Soul has its roots in the North Coast of Colombia where Cumbia, Vallenato and Salsa Dura reign supreme, in New York City where the Boogaloo and Jazz inflected Fania-era Salsa reached a creative peak, in Kingston Jamaica where Roots Reggae reigns supreme and in California where psychedelic Latin Rock musicians like Santana, War and Malo picked up on Jazz, Funk and Caribbean rhythms creating the original Latin jam bands.
