This shawl is a study in seven values of the same hue using the Fibonacci Sequence (the number sequence 1, 1, 2, 3, 5, 8, 13, 21, . . .) The colours range from dark maroon to lightest pink with dusty rose and mauve somewhere in between.
* It is made from a very fine Paterna wool tapestry yarn. It is lightweight enough that it can be worn as a scarf as well as a shawl, and it can be worn in warmer weather. I wove it in plain weave to let the design and colours stand out.
* The shawl is 21" wide. While its on-loom width was woven at 27", between drawn-in and fulling, its width was reduced. This has the advantage of making it less bulky, especially when worn around the neck as a scarf. It is long enough to be thrown over your shoulder without falling back down (something I find annoying), or it can be secured with a decorative pin.
CARE INSTRUCTIONS
Wash/rinse it gently by hand in warm water with mild detergent and water softener if desired. Roll it in a towel, squeeze tightly or stand on it to press out the water, and lay it flat to dry. Iron to give it a finished look. Do not machine wash. It is made to be worn and enjoyed; with care it should last a long time. If moths are common in your area, I suggest storing it in a zippered container with lavender or the moth repellent of your choice.
