This is a candle holder made from a handmade, pre Civil War, Boone Hall Plantation brick. To make the hoIder, I cut off the back end of the brick and drill a hole in the top. The candle votive fits in the top. On the smooth side of the brick I have attached a hand cut slate crab. It is cut from a purple piece of historic roofing slate.
